What do governors do?
“As stated in the DfE’s Governance Handbook, the responsibilities of the governing body are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff; and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent”
COMPLAINTS
Parent governors are sometimes asked to pass on complaints. This is not their role, it is much better to talk about issues in person by speaking to the teacher, phase leader, deputy headteacher or headteacher. To make an appointment please contact the school on 0191 4334140 or by email to KellsLane@klps.org.uk.
ACCESS TO PUBLISHED DOCUMENTS RELATING TO EDUCATIONAL PROVISION
Please note that all parents have access to all governing body minutes, which are stored for this purpose in the general office off the key stage 2 hall along with the school policies.
